Bishop Edward C. Malesic celebrated the baccalaureate Mass at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Parish, Uniontown, for Geibel Catholic May 23.

Sara Ehrhardt, daughter of Margaret and the late Randy Ehrhardt of Belle Vernon, is the Class of 2019 valedictorian. Sara is a parishioner of St. Anne Parish, Rostraver, and earned highest honors each of her four years at Geibel Catholic.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, Students Against Dangerous Decisions (SADD) and Mu Alpha Theta national math honor society. She was on the basketball, soccer and softball teams for four years and was varsity captain of the basketball and softball teams her senior year.
She was a Seton Hill Woman of Science honoree for mathematics and earned the Geibel Catholic Calculus Award. She also received the Challenge Program Award for Academic Excellence and the Herald-Standard Scholar-Athlete Award.
Sara volunteers at her parish and served as an extraordinary minister of holy Communion at Geibel Catholic.
She will attend the University of Pittsburgh and plans to pursue a degree in pediatric medicine.
Caelen Stevenson, daughter of Justin and Melissa Stevenson of Uniontown, is the Class of 2019 salutatorian. Caelen is a parishioner of St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Parish and earned highest honors each of her four years at Geibel Catholic.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and SADD and was president of the French Honor Society. She was on the volleyball and softball team, which she captained, and received All-County honors her senior year.
She was a Seton Hill Woman of Science honoree for chemistry and received the Challenge Program Award for Academic Excellence, Herald-Standard Scholar-Athlete Award, B’nai B’rith Scholar-Athlete Award, Connellsville Business and Professional Women’s Award, and the Sister Lucy Chemistry Award and Survey of French Literature Award from Geibel Catholic.
She was a volunteer for the Conn-Area Catholic School performing arts program.
Caelen will attend Penn-State Fayette, The Eberly Campus and plans to major in kinesiology.
Nina Alvarez, daughter of Joseph and Melinda Alvarez of Monongahela, is the recipient of the 2019 Geibel Alumni Award. Nina, a parishioner of St. Damien of Molikai Parish, was the senior class president and treasurer of the National Honor Society.
She was captain of the soccer team and cheer squad, and had a lead role in the spring musical “Mamma Mia!” She received the Geibel Spirit Award, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Award, Herald-Standard Scholar-Athlete Award and Excellence in Music Award.
Nina will attend Washington & Jefferson College and plans to major in education.
